Accessing menubar via hotkey is not functional

This app is great for:

1. Quick entry of calendar events
2. Quick entry of reminders via Alfred
3. Quick access via the menubar to todays reminders and be able to check them off

However, there is problem with use case #3. Most of the time when I bring up the menubar dropdown via the hotkey, there is no keyboard focus. So while I can look at my events and reminders, I cant act on them unless I use the mouse. To me, this defeats the purpose of accessing the menubar item via a hotkey, and is a serious flaw in this otherwise very functional piece of software.

There is another little nag. Most of my events involve inviting other people. There doesnt seem to be a way to handle this with QuickCal. This means while I can create the event, I still have to go to iCal to invite attendees.
